The junta destroyed about 50 shops around Mandalay’s Zay Cho market, targeting the exact location where prominent Spring Revolution leaders Dr. Teza San, Ko Nan Linn, and Ko Khant Wai Phyo led a protest on December 3. Over 200 military and administrative personnel carried out the demolition late at night, framing it as a municipal operation. Residents say the action was retaliation for the protest, not routine enforcement. As of December 5, the area remains blocked by security forces.
