U Htun Ohn, the Union Solidarity and Development Party (USDP) candidate for the Pyithu Hluttaw seat in Tamwe Township, reportedly sold motorcycle tires to more than 500 slow-vehicle workers at a price of 10,000 kyats per tire through an installment (credit) system. The sale took place on the evening of January 20 at Aung Myay Bodhi Dhamma Yitthar Alodawpyi Monastery, according to reports.
In addition, donors reportedly provided donations of rice, cooking oil, salt, other basic food items, and cash to more than 100 novice nuns from various townships, as well as to slow-vehicle workers.
U Htun Ohn is currently serving as a Union Minister at the Ministry of the Office of the President (No. 4).
The third phase of the election is scheduled to be held on January 25 across 63 townships nationwide, including 17 townships in the Yangon Region.
The Yangon Region townships included in the third phase are: Dagon, Lanmadaw, Seikkyi/Khanaungto, Dala, Dagon Myothit (Seaport), Dagon Myothit (East), Mingala Taungnyunt, Thaketa, North Okkalapa, Tamwe, Yankin, Kyauktada, Khayan, Thongwa, Sanchaung, Hlaingthaya (West), and Hlaingthaya (East).
